When Revival?
It is exciting to this pastor to hear there is a move of God in the heart of our country. There are reports of revival taking place at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky. From what I understand this started in a student chapel on February 8th. God moved on the hearts of the young people in chapel as a simple message from God’s Word about God’s great Love for us. The service has spontaneously continued from that day, continuing even eight or so more days with thousands praying together and many at the altar confessing and being delivered from spiritual bondage. We should pray that this overflows from the thousands that have participated there into the surrounding counties, states, and even to the world.
Jesus taught that we should always pray and not lose heart (Luke 18:1). Let’s follow the example of others who prayed until revival came. Around 1895 a young Welshman named Evan Roberts was repeatedly awakened to pray from 1:00 to 5:00 a.m. From what we understand it took about 10 years before the prayers were answered. The Great Welsh revival of 1905 took place with more than one hundred thousand people converted to Christ during that mighty awakening, but it was not the result of manufactured meetings or manmade promotions. True revival goes deeper than that.
Isaiah 57:15 “For thus says the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.”
Let’s Not lose heart in our prayer for revival. May we be even more vigilant, Pastor Larry
