“A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24
“From here I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.” John 15:15
STUDY SHOWING A LACK OF TRUE FRIENDS IN WHICH TO CONFIDE IN AMERICA
If you find yourself longing for someone to talk to, a true friend to whom you can bare your soul, you are not alone. Recently, a Duke University researcher concluded that 25 percent of Americans have no one with whom they can have a meaningful conversation. And 50 percent of folks have two or less people of that sort in their lives. The statistics also indicate that the confidante network of the average American is shrinking.

The above commentary is sad. I sure hope that the findings are different for the Christian community. I am very grateful for the friends I have here at Cornerstone. Thank you so much for “holding the fort” while our family was out of town! It is so assuring to know that I can depend on Christian friends like you all. I also know that around this country we have friends who will pray and support us when times get difficult. We also need to stand in the gap for our friends when they go through the valleys of life. Lastly, we know we have the most understanding of friends in our Jesus. He’s always faithful, always listening and always available. He invites you to go to Him anytime.
May we all remember to consider Jesus our best friend, Pastor Larry
