Trapped in a Bucket

The other day I was clearing out one of the car wash buckets I use and left it out by the edge of my garage to dry.  I was near the bucket a little later and watched a small lizard fall into said plastic bucket and watched for a moment to see if it could climb out.  It was almost humorous to watch it make a little progress and then fall back to the bottom.  This happened a few times.

There are seasons of our lives where we “feel trapped” in some kind of circumstance that is out of our control.  We all face times like this.  Sometimes we react properly in these situations, and other times not so much.  As we mature in our faith in Christ, it should be natural to turn to God as our FIRST instinct and not wait until after looking elsewhere for solutions to our dilemma.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isiah 41:10

When you feel trapped by fear or weak circumstances, this verse reminds you that God actively holds and supports you.

Oh, and yes, I did tip the bucket over and “rescue the lizard” from his predicament within short order, I’m not a “monster”. 

Psalm 34:17-18 “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”

Even when escape seems impossible, God stays close to hear your cry and bring ultimate rescue.
