A man in despair came to his pastor telling him that he was extremely concerned about his emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.    He felt himself being drawn into the jaws of depression.  The pastor suggested what seemed to be a terribly simplistic remedy to this problem.  The pastor suggested that he find someone in his life that had made a positive impact on his life and write the person a thank you letter.  The man reluctantly agreed, thought about it, and remembered a teacher who had been a great help to him growing up.  He wrote this letter to the dear teacher, now an elderly lady, and quickly received a response.  The letter from his former teacher stated how thrilled she was to receive his letter, that he was the only student in all of her years of teaching to ever write to thank her.  She also stated that she had read the letter over and over, and that she would treasure it all of her life.  The man enjoyed this so much that in a few years he wrote over 500 letters to other that had blessed his life.  He, of course, recuperated and became one of the happiest Christians you’d ever want to meet.
