I watched a preview of how some experts are trying to restore color to some very famous old paintings. It was intriguing to see the detailed methods they employed to accomplish this. There were special cameras, lights and computer processes with the various original paint palettes (only the kind that would have been available in the period time for said paintings) used in the process. The results were pretty astonishing.
The Greek word “kainos” (new) is found around 38 times in our New Testament. It carries with it the meaning of: recently made, fresh, recent, unused, unworn.
I love that fact that God is currently at work in our world making you and I “new”. May we be reminded of the verse in 1 Corinthians “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (1Cor.5:17)
All of us are in a lost way needing God’s restoration process to make us into the amazing creation as his sons and daughters. God’s method to restore us was a costly yet lovingly calculated one. We may be astounded when we unpack Ephesians 2. In particular verses 14-16: “For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15) having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16) and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.”
So grateful that God made a way for us to be made new, Pastor Larry
