I Can Only Imagine

Recently a music artist on American Idol sang a rendition of “I Can Only Imagine”.  They performed the song with grace and professionalism.  I enjoyed it and in my spirit, I tried to think/imagine what I will do when I see Jesus face to face.  It’s a glorious and humbling thought.

When Moses saw Him his face shone. Job abhorred himself and repented in ashes. Isaiah saw himself as unclean. Thomas said “My Lord and my God.” Saul (Paul) fell down and worshiped Him as Savior. When John on the isle of Patmos saw Jesus he “fell at his feet as dead”. What would happen today if we really saw the Lord?

We find in Revelation chapter 21 and 22, “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him.  They will see his face, …” Revelation 21:1; 22:3-4a
