God Teaching
“Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” Psalms 25:5
I am aware that many of you have had dogs as pets or currently own a dog(s). Their unconditional love and companionship can be greatly enjoyed. We know that having a pet that you enjoy comes with some degree of teaching and training. Monday while riding my bike through the neighborhood, I observed two people teaching and training a young dog (it may have been a puppy). I watched them for a few moments and noticed while on the leash they were giving instruction and encouraging obedience with positive and negative reinforcement. It seemed to me that the dog was very compliant. My guess is that they will be happy with this dog if it continues listening and obeying it’s owner.
I sensed God speaking to me in this moment. In my spirit I was catching the wonderful metaphor of God and his child (you and I) experiencing a similar relationship. We just celebrated Resurrection Sunday (Easter) last week and continue to celebrate the spiritual relationship we have with God as Father, Deliverer, Provider, Protecter & our ultimate Savior. Do we see Him also as our Teacher today? We are to be reminded that as long as we have breath on this earth, we are to be exceptional students paying attention to God’s Word and looking for opportunities to learn and practice what He has for each of us. Will you pray along with the psalmist, “Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.”?
