Do You Feel like a Millionaire?
About a week ago I attended a car show with a friend. As you know, I enjoy viewing everything from old classics, muscle cars, experimental, to the very expensive exotic sports car. This show did not disappoint. I believe there were over 600 cars on display. Some I was familiar with and a few I had to discover their identity.
Beside the fun of looking at the cars, I enjoy talking to some of the owners hearing their stories and if the Lord opens the door, I share Jesus with them. I also converse and visit with other spectators as well.
At this show I ended up standing near a 60’s Volkswagen type 2 Samba bus. It’s a unique and somewhat rare 23 window van. We spoke with it’s owner for a few moments and then had an opportunity to visit with a spectator named Tim. Thinking he was just some “ordinary car guy” the conversation went pretty normal. That is until I found out he was a millionaire 10x over. He owned a very successful business up north that he was able to sell for a fortune. After he was “flexing” a little about his successes (though not in a full on “I’m better than you way”) I felt a bit intimidated for some reason. As the event ended and we went our separate ways, I started to consider the less than secure thinking (slight intimidation) I was having earlier.
Holy Spirit slowly reminded me of the wonderful fact of how rich I am. No need for any small-mindedness for this child & prince of God! There are no less than five verses in Ephesians that remind us of the unmatchable riches we have in Jesus Christ. “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; 18) The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 7) That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8) Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
16) That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;” Ephesians 1:7,18; 2:7; 3:8,16
Of course, the statement in Philippians assures as well. “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:19
Express your faith with me, “We’re so wealthy in Christ!, come enjoy the riches of His peace, love and hope!”
