Defend What Is Important
In the news this week, we continue to monitor the various challenges taking place in the Middle East. I hope you remember to pray for the people living there as well as our soldiers serving there. A day or two ago, Iranian missiles and drones struck Kuwait International Airport on Wednesday, killing one person and injuring 63 others as the shaky ceasefire with the United States continued to unravel.
Kuwait’s military said it intercepted 13 missiles and 17 drones since dawn. The U.S. shot down Iranian drones near the Strait of Hormuz and struck a military site on Iran’s Qeshm Island.
I’m glad that there is defensive weaponry in the region to protect the Kuwait population and am certain they appreciate it too. Let’s keep praying for an end to this conflict.
Considering the physical warfare we witness through global news, I’m reminded that we are constantly under spiritual attack. How are we viewing the spiritual war we are confronted with?
God’s solid advice found in 1Peter states: “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1Peter 5:8
“For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.” 2Corinthians 10:4
And may we be encouraged by this statement made in Isaiah:
“no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment.” Isaiah 54:17
Keep fighting the good fight, Pastor Larry
