BALANCE
This verse in Philippians 4 is so needful for us in this age, “Let your moderation (reasonableness/graciousness) be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.” Philippians 4:5
As BELIEVERS we must be BALANCED. Right now it’s too easy for me and you to lose our spiritual equilibrium and tarnish our testimony.
BALANCE is…COURAGE OVER FEAR. Be bold! The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in us. Trust! We have an all powerful God who is sovereign over all and in compete control. There is nothing and no one to fear.
BALANCE is…LOVE OVER HATE. Ours is the greatest of virtues and the greatest of commandments and the first of the fruit of the Spirit and the strongest indication that we are Christ followers, for they will know us by our love, not our hate, bitterness, or arrogant attitude.
BALANCE is…SELF CONTROL OVER SELF INDULGENCE. We must guard against the sinful cravings of our flesh. Learn to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and think on higher and holier things. We must guard against emotional outbursts, for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.
BE BALANCED. BE SPIRITUAL.
“for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of POWER and LOVE and of a Sound Mind (SELF-CONTROL).” 2 Timothy 1:7
If you’ve found yourself unbalanced, take a moment with the Lord, humble yourself before God and ask for His forgiveness. He is gracious and forgiving and loves you
